After experiencing a 28 hour power outage back in winter, I made up my mind - I'm going to get a generator that would keep the essential home appliances up and running - the heater, fridge, microwave, and those are just to name a few.

The listing said that it should take 10 days to arrive, BUT fortunately, it only took 3 (a huge plus). When it got here, I did a couple of wiring to allow me to connect the generator to my electric dryer outlet.
